Years ago, I was attending an association meeting where I didn’t know a soul. I deliberately showed up right on time as I was nervous about talking to a bunch of people I didn’t know. I hated the thought they all wanted to sell me something, or their conversation was fake and manipulative.
Have you ever done that? I felt I was shy, I was nervous, and that I didn’t have anything to offer others, so networking was a waste of my time. I would throw out the business cards I collected when I got home and dreaded the next meeting,
But I kept going, and the networking got more comfortable with time.
