WHAT IS RELAXATION? |
|
Relaxation means various things to various people. Taking a walk in the country can be very relaxing; so can soaking in a hot bubble bath after a long day. When I use the work "relaxation", I am referring to a state of being, initiated by you, in which there are physiological and psychological changes. Just feeling relaxed may not mean that you are. It can be very frustrating not to be able to relax (and of course, very stressful and even unhealthy). Think about what your perfect day "away from work" would consist of. Perhaps it is lazing around in bed until noon, maybe sitting in front of the television watching mindless television and even perhaps puttering in the garden pulling weeds. Whatever you would like to do on a day off is relaxing for you. Remember this is not what you "should" do, it is what you "want" to do. They are different things!
